IN MEMORY OF MY MOTHER

MAMMA-pastel and digital imagery
Dates of Her Life

Date Of Burial... SEPTEMBER 27, 1997 / 14 TISHRI 5765

My Mother, Tillye Goldstein was born in St. Louis,
the youngest of 4 surviving children[2 girls &2 boys]
to Ida[Obenitsky] and Bernard Samuel Goldstein.

At her naming ceremony, her sister Rose
substituted a "y" for the typical "i" in the English name Tillie,
because as she told it, "My little sister is special".

My Mother married My Father, Jacob Louis Goldstein in 1949. I was born in 1953.
My Father died in 1957, on the 13th of ADAR2, or the "Ides of March" on the "gregorian" calendar.
As a "C" section baby, I always thought that was a bit of poetic irony.

Mamma passed away in My arms about an hour after Yom Kippur 5765 ended
and was buried in a Willmette, IL cemetary near her Sister Rose...
She was 90 years old.

She lived a difficult life with as much grace and strength as she could.
May her soul be blessed with a perfect peace and May She dwell
in the presence of Ribbono Shel Olam
The Master of The Universe.

I am, and will always be so very grateful to...
Rabbi Urecki and The Ladies of B'nai Jacob's C'hevrah Kaddisha
before, during, and after My mom's passing
for their council, presence, and suppport
through this turbulent emotional time.

May they and their families be blessed
and May this community be blessed by their presence.

AMEN
