THE APPRENTICE MEETS PASSOVER-PALOOZA!!
Read "The Donald"'s letter to Rabbi Urecki
Dear Congregants and Friends,

I am writing on behalf of our high school youth group which meets every Sunday.  As you know, this winter I was trying to come up with an idea on how to get our high school students to be active and enthusiastic about being a part of synagogue life.

My daughters, who are huge fans of the television show the
Apprentice suggested that I create a game for the class based on the hit show starring Donald Trump.

As a result, I have broken up the students into two groups:
The Girls are
Yaffa, Inc., and the Boys are Gladiator Corp.
I've been putting them through a 16 week "interview" process
to see who is best able to shape and mold a successful
Jewish community.

Each week, I give them a task to perform and the team that performs the best is rewarded, while the losing team
"meets me in the boardroom" where one of them
is forced to bring breakfast for everyone the following week.

It has been a very rewarding experience for all of us;
The PURIM-PALOOZA TSUNAMI PROJECT, where the
students raised over $23,000, and received national
recognition was one of our most successful events.

This month, we have asked the "corporations" to help
to organize a FOOD DRIVE for the needy to celebrate
Passover  which starts after Shabbos on Saturday
14 Nissan/April 23rd.

  The
two recent e-mails from me outline their latest task.

They have each come up with a separate e-mail flyer to get
your attention on Feeding the Hungry, an integral part of the Passover Seder.

Come to the Synagogue and drop off Non-perishable items including canned goods in one of two collection bins by the sanctuary,  one for
Yaffa and one for Gladiators.

As you walk in, we want you to tell us whether you came to donate food
because of Yaffa or Gladiator

The team that brings in the most food donations will be
handsomely rewarded!

We are asking that you not only participate, but to look at their flyers and decide which one you think did the
best job in marketing The Food Drive. In addition to this, each  team may also be contacting you this week and personally inviting you to join them.

Please look at this as a "friendly competition". Our goal is to "Feed The Hungry" for Passover, and enjoy the special
moments of this holiday together knowing that our high
school kids are actively involved and excited about being
Jewish at B'nai Jacob here in Charleston,WV.

I e-mail the high school kids
daily with updates.
Any positive feed-back on their flyers you would like me to
pass on to them, I would be glad to do so.
You can either call me at 346-4722 or e-mail me at
charlestonrabbi@yahoo.com

Thank you for your cooperation and participation.
Enjoy their efforts!
I wish you and yours a joyous Passover!

  Shalom!
